SUPPORT THE LEGACY BEQUEATH ON US BY OUR VISIONARY FOUNDING FATHERS
Our founding fathers bequeath on us a lasting legacy in Christian faith and western education when they founded the 1st Baptist Church Ileteju Mopa in 1922. These visionary founding fathers also had the foresight to start the first learning institution in Mopa land in 1932-The Baptist Day School. They contributed their children to start the school, trekked all over Yoruba land to look for teachers and accommodated and paid them from their own resources. This was in response to what Rev Tommy Titcombe was doing in Egbe; hence the common sayings at the time “Igbagbo Egbe” / “Oyinbo Egbe.” These visionary founding fathers though uneducated by western standards were smart to recognize a new civilization and abandoned their traditional religions and became converted to Christianity and were baptized in their new faith. .Please note that all had baptismal Christian first names.
